Have you always wanted to learn more about how to move your body in ways to become different characters on stage? Shapeshifter with The Stella Luna, which is part of the 2026 “Monthly Mondays” class series, will teach you just that.
The Stella Luna has been in burlesque for 6 years, but before that was heavily involved in belly dance, yoga, and flow arts for over a decade. Stella says “what I love most about burlesque is the space it offers me to shapeshift into any variety of characters and versions of myself as I desire. This class is a physical exploration of that concept.”
In this class you will learn shapeshifting through character development, story building, and full-on embodiment of the shape. Not just putting on the costume, but becoming. Students will play with and explore a variety of shapes to shift into, including animals, archetypes, and feelings. Students will be able to take the lessons from this class and apply it to their performances or daily lives. This class is for the performer that wants to deepen and expand the impact of what they express and how they express on and off stage.
This class will be exploring the edges of expression and is less about dancing or technical skills, than it is about general movement. Instructor will have modifications for students needing to sit during class. Good for all skill levels, though instructor recommends at least a little bit of dance/performance experience so that the concepts of the class are more easily accessible. Students are encouraged to wear comfy clothing and bring a water bottle.
Classes that are part of “Monthly Mondays” are pay-what-you-can, but Shapeshifter has a suggested price of $40-$50 which can be paid by cash or Venmo. This class has no limit on the amount of students allowed in (besides what the room can safely hold.) Class takes place in the rehearsal space of Buntport Theater, located at 717 Lipan St. in Denver.
