Shape Shifter Workshop

Learn the art of shape shifting through character and archetype development, creative embodiment, and somatic expression in this 2.5 hour workshop!
This workshop is where we go from from simply playing dress up, to full on embodiment.
After this workshop you will leave with a fresh new bag of tools to access, express, and fully embody a swath of different characters, archetypes, and versions of yourself in an artistic way.
This is not a dance class. It is not a modeling class.
This is a workshop that will take you deeper into yourself and your expression. We will try on a wide variety of expressions, archetypes, and characters through body language, facial expression, and some basic psycho-somatic practices. As we work through these things, we’ll discuss how to apply them to our art in a way that others can ~feel~.
What does it look like to be mischievous, awkward, or powerful?
How does it feel to be a pretty princess, a badass rockstar, or a scary monster?
How does your body express the vast range of feelings and experiences we have access to without having to use words?

All levels of experience are welcome. All bodies and range of motion welcome. All styles of movement artists are welcome.
Wear comfortable clothes you can move in, no shoes needed, bring water and a small snack, bring a notebook if you are a note taker.
